Prairie Coneflower - Ratibida columnaris (yellow)

Prairie ConeflowerDescription: This showy, daisy like, perennial is easy to grow and the 2' to 3' stems of bright yellow flowers, make a beautiful display in your yard or along the roadside!

Flowering Season: April through October

Comments: The root system forms clumps, of long lacy leafed stems. When done blooming allow plants to wither up, and cut back to a few inches above ground level in the fall. You will be rewarded with blooms the next spring from both the expanding re-growth and seeds from last years bloom. We have had good experience with these as simple cut flowers for the table! Native to most of North America, coneflower likes loose gritty soil, and is also used commercially. This seed is nice mixed with similar Mexican Hat flowers.
